ABOUT THE OPPOSITION:
After another strong campaign in 2021/22, Hartpury University have added a handful of fresh faces to help ensure another good season.
The most noticeable of them is Mitch Eadie from Bristol Bears. The back-row spent last year on loan at Hartpury but the move has now been made permanent. They have also signed experienced Championship campaigners Sam Rodman and Jack Davies from Cornish Pirates and Doncaster Knights respectively, as well as bringing in Harry Fry and Ellis Shipp from the Dragons.
Hartpury also have strong relationships with Bristol Bears and Gloucester and regularly have some of their players involved in their match-day squads. This relationship works both ways, as Hartpury have lost Jame Williams, Oscar Lennon and the Benz-Salomon brothers to the Bears. Last season’s club co-captain Will Crane left to go to the Pirates while George Simpson and Robbie Smith both moved to Doncaster.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Hartpury started the season strongly as they travelled to Championship new boys Caldy. In what was an end-to-end encounter, the men from Gloucestershire came out on the correct side of the 22-33 scoreline with JB Bruzulier grabbing a brace.
In Round 2 they faced a dominant Doncaster side who were frustrated by their opening day defeat to Trailfinders. After a strong start by Hartpury, the Knights grew into the contest and eventually ran out 34-16 winners. Hartpury will be looking to bounce back strong this Saturday.

LAST TIME WE MET:
Our last meeting came in February 2022 when we travelled to The Alpas Arena to face a dominant Hartpury side who were on a six-game unbeaten run. The Green and Whites started the stronger, and secured the bonus point within 35 minutes as we raced out to a 0-28 lead. The hosts did answer back but ultimately the damage was already done as the game finished Hartpury 14-Ealing Trailfinders 33.
