York to lead side for Jersey visit
Chris York will captain Ealing Trailfinders in their home Greene King IPA Championship match against Jersey on Saturday.
The number eight has been a mainstay of the side this season and his experience will be vital with the team still chasing points to avoid relegation.
Ealing Trailfinders and Jersey have a long rivalry having followed one another through the leagues to their current positions in the Championship. Two seasons ago Ealing Trailfinders won both matches, but Jersey enjoyed the last laugh when they avoided relegation at the west London side’s expense on the final day of the season.
Earlier in the season a powerful Jersey pack dominated to lead the Channel Islanders to a 35-7 win at St Peters.
York featured in that match, as did flanker Iain Grieve, who will start on the blind-side on Saturday with Arthur Ellis donning the number seven shirt on the open-side.
The starting tight-five is unchanged from the one which ran out against Nottingham in the team’s most recent match two weeks ago. It means that Will Davis and Alex Penny pack down either side of hooker Alun Walker, with Adam Preocanin and Paul Spivey behind them in the engine room.
Former Jersey player Jonny Bentley will guide the backline from fly-half, in tandem with scrum-half Alex Walker.
There are two changes in the three-quarter line where centre Toby Howley-Berridge and wing James Love come into the starting team.
Centre Tom Wheatcroft and wing Rhys Crane complete the three-quarters, while Luke Daniels is behind them at fullback.
