Stephenson back for London derby

Ealing, London, 25 March, 2016 – James Stephenson returns to the team when Ealing Trailfinders host capital city rivals London Welsh at Vallis Way in the Greene King IPA Championship on Saturday.

Stephenson last featured in the British and Irish Cup match away to Rotherham Titans in February and will line up on the left wing. The last time the two sides met Stephenson scored Ealing Trailfinders’ second try to wrap up a 27-3 win at Old Deer Park, Ben Ward’s side’s first away win of the season.

Also returning to the side is centre Tom Wheatcroft, who will pair up with Danny Barnes in his first appearance since the away match against Jersey on 4 December.

Rhys Crane will complete the three-quarter line on the opposite wing from Stephenson. He will be aiming to add to the seven tries that he has scored in his past four appearances, which have helped make him the team’s leading try-scorer so far this season with 10.

Fullback Luke Daniels, fly-half Ward and scrum-half Alex Walker complete the backline.

Up front there is one change in the pack where Iain Grieve replaces Llewelyn Jones in the back-row. He will pack down alongside number eight Chris York and flanker Arthur Ellis, with Adam Preocanin and Carwyn Jones in the engine room.

In the front-row hooker Rhys Lawrence will lead the team for the 10th time this season and will team up with props Alex Penny and Will Davis.
