Preo back for Titans visit

Adam Preocanin will make his first start of the season when Rotherham Titans visit Vallis Way in the Greene King IPA Championship on Saturday.

Last season’s Players’ Player of the Year made his return from injury off the bench against Bedford Blues a week ago. Preocanin has happy memories of playing against Rotherham Titans as he scored a try the last time the sides met in the league on the final day of the 2015-16 season.

Preocanin is one of three changes to the side that defeated Bedford Blues 24-23 last time out and he will pack down alongside Carwyn Jones in the second row.

Also coming into the starting line-up is Luke Carter. The scrum-half was one of four players to arrive at Vallis Way from Rotherham Titans in the summer and all four will feature against their former club.

Lewis Thiede will anchor the scrum from tight-head, Curtis Wilson is on the wing and Willie Ryan will feature in the back-row alongside Arthur Ellis and captain and number eight Mark Bright.

The other change to the team comes in the front row where loose-head prop Nacho Lancuba will pack down alongside Thiede and hooker Rhys Lawrence, who started the try scoring last weekend.

At half-back Carter will team up with Aaron Penberthy, who enjoyed a 100% kicking ratio against Bedford Blues, while Wilson will make up a back three with James Cordy-Redden and Luke Daniels.

Joe Munro and Aled Jenkins continue as the centre partnership for the fifth league match in succession having scored six tries between them this season.
