Penberthy swaps Spain for west London
Aaron Penberthy has become Ealing Trailfinders’ latest signing and he has already made his Greene King IPA Championship debut for the west London club.
Penberthy came off the bench in the 31-31 draw against his former club Cornish Pirates at the Mennaye Field on Sunday, just a few days after signing on with Ben Ward’s team.
The 23-year-old Penberthy moves to Vallis Way following a brief spell with Spanish champions, Silver Storm El Salvador. Before then be played for Jersey Reds for three years and he featured in both matches between Ealing Trailfinders and the Channel Islanders last season.
The Cornishman began his career at Redruth, where he played alongside new teammate Mark Bright and then moved to Cornish Pirates in 2011, who he helped to the 2012 play-off final.
Penberthy’s preferred position in fly-half, but he has also featured in the Championship at fullback and centre.
