Murphy and Maddison set for first starts

New boys Kieran Murphy and Barney Maddison will make their first Ealing Trailfinders starts when the team travels to face Jersey in the Greene King IPA Championship on New Years’ Day.

The pair are recent recruits from London Welsh and both made their debuts off the bench in the defeat to Cornish Pirates on Christmas Eve.

Murphy will start on the blindside flank and will make up a back row with captain Mark Bright and openside Seb Nagle-Taylor, while Maddison will pack down in the second row alongside Glen Townson.

In front of them the front row of props James Gibbons and Lewis Thiede and hooker Alun Walker is unchanged.

In the backline Director of Rugby Ben Ward has made four changes.

James Cordy-Redden and Will Harries come in on the wings, either side of fullback Luke Daniels.

At half-back Luke Carter will link up with fly-half Aaron Penberthy and Lewis Jones will start at centre, alongside Joe Munro.
