Ellis joins Bright, Murphy and Ryan to keep back row options strong for next season

Arthur Ellis will make it four years with Ealing Trailfinders after he agreed to extend his contract with the club for a further season.

The 26-year-old has made 15 appearances in the Greene King IPA Championship and the British and Irish Cup this season to date and scored one try.

Last season Ellis made 22 appearances in the Greene King IPA Championship and British and Irish Cup in 2015-16 and scored six tries. The flanker joined Ealing Trailfinders ahead of the 2014-15 season and he helped the team to the National 1 season with 29 tries.

“I’m really happy to have re-signed,” Ellis said. “I have learned a lot and developed as a player.

“We are building a good squad with a good set of coaches and Ealing Trailfinders are a club that are going places and one I want to be a part of.”

Ellis hails from Ealing and went to school in the area before he moved away to study at Cardiff University.

During his time in Wales he was played for the Ospreys, Bridgend Ravens and Newport.

Joining Ellis at Ealing Trailfinders next season are fellow back-rowers Mark Bright, Kieran Murphy and Willie Ryan, whose deals continue for a second season.

“I’m delighted to keep Arthur with us for another season,” Director of Rugby Ben Ward said. “He has been here since the club turned professional and is an important member of the squad.

“Arthur is one of our best ball-playing forwards and links well with the backline. He knows what we are about as a club and knows what is expected of him. Along with Mark Bright, Willie Ryan and Kieran Murphy it is a strong looking back row that is staying together next season.”
