Ealing Trailfinders spread festive cheer at Ealing Hospital
Ealing Trailfinders first XV players Ignas Darkintis, Sean O’Connell and Danny Kenny joined in the Christmas fun at Ealing Hospital when they visited the Charlie Chaplin paediatric department.
The Charlie Chaplin ward is one of the leading child medical centres in London and provides residential care for up to 20 children, many of whom are fighting serious illness. It also provides treatment for day patients.
Along with the children, the players also met staff on ward, found out about their work and along with club mascot Bruno the Bear and Father Christmas presented early Christmas presents in the form of Ealing Trailfinders teddy bears and mini rugby balls.
“It was absolutely fantastic to be supported by our local rugby club, Bruno the bear and Father Christmas, who brought cheer and fun to our ward, ” Carole Dinsley, Matron for Paediatrics said. “The children and staff were delighted to meet them and thrilled with their Ealing Trailfinders teddies and rugby balls.
“The children were very excited as the players, Bruno and Father Christmas met each child individually and took time to have photographs. Thank you Ealing Trailfinders for coming to visit us and bringing some Christmas cheer to brighten up our day.”
