Ealing Trailfinders confirm departing players

Ealing Trailfinders can today confirm the players that will be departing the club at the end of the season.

A number of the current squad will be heading on to new adventures after leading the West Londoners to second in the Greene King IPA Championship as well as having a British and Irish Cup Final next month.

With a number of players heading to the Aviva Premiership, the performances on the pitch have been reflected in their opportunities to test themselves in the top flight of English rugby.

Director of Rugby Ben Ward thanked all of the players for their invaluable contribution to the club.

“With such a positive season on the pitch it is inevitable that a lot of our players have attracted interest from elsewhere. We are disappointed to lose them but understand the opportunity to test themselves at the next level. We wish them all the best and will keep an eye on their progress.

This has meant a high turnover of players and the start of an exciting new cycle for the club to see if we can make the next step.

Of the leavers, a special mention should go to Arthur Ellis, Llewelyn Jones, Luke Daniels and Will Davis. These guys have been with us ever since the club decided to become full time and they have all made valuable contributions.

It’s been a pleasure to have shared their company and they have played a big role in leading the club to where it is today.

Mark Bright also deserves a lot of recognition for what he has brought to the club and his performances on the field have been so consistently high. His award for Championship Player of the Season for 16/17 was just reward for him.

We would not be where we are today without the incredible work rate of every one of these players. They have all played their part in one of the best season’s in the club’s history, and we cannot thank them enough for all of their effort in an Ealing Trailfinders shirt.

They will always be welcomed back to the club and we look forward to rounding off the season on a high as a group.”
