Davies set to face former team-mates

Alex Davies will be on familiar ground when he returns to face his old team-mates in Ealing Trailfinders’ London derby against London Welsh in the Greene King IPA Championship on Saturday.

Davies spent four seasons with the Exiles and scored 488 points in 69 matches. Two seasons ago he started on the bench in both the home and away fixtures, which were both won by London Welsh.

Since he moved to Vallis Way over the summer he has scored 48 points for Director of Coaching Ben Ward’s side and on Saturday he will start at scrum-half alongside fly-half Ward, who returns to action for the first time since March.

Outside them Tom Wheatcroft and Danny Barnes will link up in the centres between wings James Stephenson and Phil Chesters, who is aiming to add to his four tries so far this season.

At fullback Luke Daniels will make his first start of the season, also his first in the Championship.

Up front Jamie Kilbane, Alun Walker and Michael Holford form the front-row with Carwyn Jones and Adam Preocanin behind them in the engine room.

Chris York captains the side from number eight with flankers Llewelyn Jones and Alex Bradley packing down either side of him.
