Dan George joins the club as Academy Forwards Coach

Ealing Trailfinders are pleased to announce that Dan George will be joining the Trailfinders Academy as Forwards Coach, from June 2022.

Dan George captained the U18 Welsh national team and played at the Junior World Cup for Wales at U19 and U21 level. The hooker enjoyed an 11 year professional playing career, representing Scarlets, London Welsh, Gloucester and Worcester in that period.

In 2016, Dan transitioned into coaching. He has since picked up a vast range of experience whilst being Head Coach at Chinnor Rugby, Lead Coach at Oaklands College, Head Coach at Old Albanians and Forwards Coach at London Scottish.

Dan will take over from Brett Wilkinson, who has moved up to the first team as Transition Coach. Dan will work with the academy to ensure the players get the highest quality coaching and help provide them with a pathway to the first team.

Dan George is excited to start his new role here at Ealing Trailfinders.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the Ealing Trailfinders family and working alongside some excellent coaches in the academy. There’s no doubt Ealing are an ambitious club who want to develop and maintain a sustainable legacy, you can see this with what they are doing with their senior squad and with the foundations they are building at Brunel University.

I look forward to using my past experiences in the professional game as a player and now as a coach to help these young talented athletes maximise their potential and play for Ealing at the elite level of professional rugby.”

Simon Sinclair is pleased to be welcoming Dan George on to the Academy programme.

“We are delighted to welcome Dan to the academy team. He was a stand out candidate with all the credentials to help further support and develop our academy players.”
