Crane up for Championship player of the month

Ealing Trailfinders’ Rhys Crane has been rewarded for some impressive performances of late by being nominated for the Greene King IPA Championship February Player of the Month Award.

Fans can vote for Rhys and be in with a chance of winning a day on the pitch at Twickenham for them and eight friends by visiting www.englandrugby.com/champ-potm.

The 30-year-old wing has been in scintillating form of late and scored six tries in February; one each against Doncaster Knights and Bristol before he ran in four tries against Moseley.

“It is great to be nominated, ” Crane said. “It is always good to be on the scoresheet so much, but that has been the result of the work of the rest of the team who have set up the positions for me.

“The important thing is that the team has begun to find some form and it is something we need to continue until the rest of the season.”

Crane will be up against Bedford Blues fullback Piers O’Conor, Doncaster Knights captain Matt Challinor and fly-half Michael Heaney.
