Crane, Bentley, Ellis and Bradley renew deals

Rhys Crane, Jonny Bentley, Arthur Ellis and Alex Bradley have all committed to another season with Ealing Trailfinders.

All four played key roles in ensuring that the west London club remained in the Greene King IPA Championship for the 2016-17 season.

Rhys Crane is the team’s leading scorer with 10 tries in the league, with the final match of the season against Rotherham Titans on Saturday still to come. The 30-year-old is one of the most experienced players in the squad having previously played for London Welsh and Nottingham in the Championship.

“I’ve really enjoyed my first season here at Vallis Way and I am back to enjoying my rugby and scoring tries, ” Crane said. “It is great we secured our place in the Championship and now I am looking forward to pre-season and helping the team move forward next season.”

Jonny Bentley joined Ealing Trailfinders in January and was a key player as the season reached its conclusion.

Arthur Ellis and Alex Bradley featured regularly on the open-side flank where their work over the ball and defence was crucial to the team throughout the season. They also weighed in with some important tries; Bradley ended the season with four, while Ellis added a brace to his club total.

“It is great that another four players have committed themselves for another season, ” Director of Coaching Ben Ward said. “All have made a positive contribution this season and will be part of the plans for us to kick on next season.”
