Cordy-Redden holds onto shirt after try-scoring debut

James Cordy-Redden has been rewarded for a try-scoring Ealing Trailfinders debut by retaining his place for the Friday night Greene King IPA Championship match away to Nottingham.

Cordy-Redden joined Ben Ward’s side in February from the England 7’s squad and he opened Ealing Trailfinders’ scoring in their 22-16 defeat to London Welsh on Saturday.

He will line up on one wing, with Rhys Crane on the other aiming to return to try-scoring form after he failed to score a try for the first time in five matches, against the Exiles.

Between them Tom Wheatcroft and Danny Barnes will form the centre pair, with Luke Daniels behind them at fullback.

At half-back Jonny Bentley comes in as fly-half after his last-minute penalty earned a losing bonus point against London Welsh and he will pair up with scrum-half Alex Walker.

In the pack Chris York will captain the side from number eight, between flankers Arthur Ellis and Iain Grieve.

Paul Spivey comes into the side alongside Adam Preocanin in the second-row, while props Will Davis and Alex Penny will pack down either side of former Nottingham hooker Alun Walker.
