Bedford Blues – Five Facts

Ealing Trailfinders take on Bedford Blues in the Greene King IPA Championship at Goldington Road on Saturday. Here’s five facts about Ben Ward’s team’s latest opponents.

• It is the fourth time the sides have met this season, twice in the Championship and once in the British and Irish Cup. Ealing Trailfinders won twice at Vallis Way and the sides drew at Goldington Road in the Cup. 

• Last week Bedford Blues defeated Rotherham Titans 36-21 to end a run of four consecutive defeats. 

• Bedford Blues were Ealing Trailfinders’ opponents in their first ever televised match. In 2013-14 the sides met at Goldington Road in front of the Sky Sports cameras and the hosts won 31-14. Fullback Andrew Henderson had the honour of scoring Ealing Trailfinders’ first points live on television. 

• Bedford Blues prop Camillo Parilli-Ocampo played six matches for Ealing Trailfinders in 2013-14 before moving to Bedford Blues that summer. 

• Ealing Trailfinders have yet to win at Goldington Road in three visits.
