Andrew Durutalo to return to Ealing Trailfinders
Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce that Andrew Durutalo will return to the club from Worcester Warriors on a long term deal.
The American international took the Greene King IPA Championship by storm in his first stint with the West Londoners, and quickly attracted the interest of the Sixways club.
At the beginning of the season he played six times for Ben Ward’s men, scoring five tries and securing three man of the match awards to firmly establish himself as a fan favourite.
The 30-year-old has featured six times for Worcester but will now head back to Vallis Way for a second spell in the Championship.
With 22 caps for his country as well as 40 appearances on the Sevens circuit, he has experience at the highest level including the 2015 Rugby World Cup and the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games.
At club level the flanker has also played in Super Rugby, where he worked with current England Head Coach Eddie Jones during his time at the Sunwolves in Japan.
Durutalo will be looking to continue his momentum with the Trailfinders, and aim to form a partnership with the likes of Ollie Stedman, Kieran Murphy and Rayn Smid for the 2018/19 season.
The powerful back-rower is thrilled to be heading back to London.
“I’m very excited to be coming back and it was an easy decision to return. I played some of my best rugby here and I love the style of rugby so I’ll be looking to contribute more next season.
There is a lot of ambition here and I want to be a part of the club as it looks to push up to greater heights.”
Director of Rugby Ben Ward is delighted to have Durutalo returning to the club.
“Drew showed everyone during his time with us earlier in the season exactly what he can do, so to have him coming back is massively exciting. I know that he is hungry for more and he will be a crucial player for us in our search to achieve our main aim next season.”
